I started this blog just over 5 years ago when I began my quest to find myself. At the time, I had no idea what I was looking for or if I would ever find it in this lifetime. I was already sufficiently jaded by life and just going through the motions of every day existing.
Try as I might though, I couldn’t silence the little voice inside of my heart that kept longing for something that seemingly felt like it could only be found outside of me. So began my search for a needle in a haystack.
To say the process was tough would be a tad of an understatement. More like blood, sweat and tears, and then some. I don’t know what you’ve heard, but finding your true authentic self is no walk in the park. It took determination to stay on my path, never mind that I gave up numerous times along the way and had to talk myself back onto the wagon again and again.
Well you know what they say – if you want something badly enough, eventually the entire universe will conspire to bring it to you. That’s what happened to me.
After a long painful process, I finally peeled off the final layer and found Myself!
As I stand here at the end of the journey, I realize that I have accomplished something truly outstanding. Not many people have the privilege of finding and living a true authentic life and I consider it something of a miracle that I actually got here.
All I want to do now is to share my story with everyone who enjoys a good story. I want to share my challenges and hopes, my highs and lows, the good, bad and outright ugly parts of my journey. I believe that, in sharing my story, I will inspire others to start sharing theirs as well.
When we all share our stories, we will start to weave a yarn. One of renewed hope, of how things can be different if we simply believe in ourselves. One of new beginnings – because at the end of the rainbow is a whole new world just waiting to be experienced. One of celebrating our differences – we are all so uniquely amazing in our own right, and we each have something so special to offer the world. One of love and compassion and empathy because each of us must walk their own individual journey.
We all have beautiful, rich stories to share. In sharing mine, it is my hope that you will be inspired to share yours.
Here’s to a treasure chest of stories!
